Blues Brothers 2000 (Europe) (Prototype)
- - togemet2

This is a prototype of Blues Brothers 2000 by Titus Interactive. This particular prototype is a build against debug libs before the final retail build of the PAL release. All files match retail PAL. An Overdump at 0x1000000 matches both Roadsters USA (0xA4DC40) and PAL (0xA56710). In both cases that falls in the middle of the second wavebank, followed only by half a dozen midis.

Duck Dodgers (USA) (Prototype) (1)
- - togemet2

This is a prototype of Duck Dodgers by Paradigm Entertainment. Some differences we noticed are as follows: Above the Press Start text on the title the date “MAR 7 2000” is displayed, there are minor graphical differences, and there is no language selection menu. A debug menu of sorts is also present and can be activated by using the D-pad.

Dinosaur Planet (USA) (Prototype)
- - togemet2

Screenshot Screenshot Screenshot

(Massive thanks to Joey for writing this page!)

Dinosaur Planet is a cancelled Nintendo 64 game developed by Rare Ltd. The game would’ve been a 3D action-adventure game inspired by “The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time”. The story would’ve followed the adventures of Krystal and Sabre, two anthropomorphic animals, as they traverse Dinosaur Planet to defeat General Scales, the self-proclaimed leader of a tribe known as the Sharpclaw. Overtime, Krystal and Sabre would encounter various other tribes of dinosaurs such as the Thorntail, and the Lightfoot tribes, and eventually come closer to discovering the truth behind the planet’s creation. Much of the same staff behind “Conker’s Bad Fur Day” and “Perfect Dark” were behind the project. The game was set to release in Quarter 1 of 2001, and required the use of the Nintendo 64’s “RAM Expansion Pak”.

Screenshot Screenshot Screenshot

After a well-received demo at E3 2000, Nintendo scheduled a meeting to discuss a possible merge of the Star Fox series with Dinosaur Planet. Ultimately, Rare accepted the idea, and Star Fox Adventures was born. From here, much of Dinosaur Planet’s original concepts were scrapped, such as Krystal being a fully fledged playable character. Instead, she was relegated to the beginning area of the game before the player controls Fox from beginning to end. After the game’s release, critics were extremely positive, citing the game’s intuitive control scheme and impressive graphics. However, fans of the Star Fox franchise were extremely unhappy with the game, citing how Star Fox Adventures’ gameplay did not line up with the previous entries. The game sold 800,000 copies by July 2006, and was designated the title of “Player’s Choice” by Nintendo.

Screenshot

Dated December 1st, 2000, this ROM features Sabre replaced by Fox McCloud from Star Fox, featuring text, audio, and visual changes. Krystal, however, remains mostly untouched aside from a small number of voice clips being changed to reference Star Fox. The game itself is playable until the player begins playing as Krystal again, where the game unfortunately crashes when you try to progress.

Included with this release is a cracked ROM done by the help of our good friend LuigiBlood, which removed Rare’s copy protection.

This is a prototype of Road Rash 64 by THQ. Some differences that could be noted are as follows: The performance tweaks for splitscreen mode and 4MB mode were not yet implimented, the maximum number of tire marks to render is 20 instead of the retail’s 16, the maximum effective display list size has 100 less commands, the transformation matrix table’s size has 10 less matrices, and some miscellaneous changes were made to padding data and pointers which don’t affect gameplay.

Glover (USA) (Prototype)
- - togemet2

This is a prototype of Glover by Hasbro Interactive. The back of the cartridge reads “Sept Build 35” in worn down sharpie. It was later revealed by Ozidual (who works closely with the current rights holder for the game), that this specific build is from September 3rd. Curiously, this cartridge was obtained by someone who had attended a tradeshow where the game was shown off.

Differences within are very minor, with the most noticeable one being that the main menu is much brighter than it is in the final game, as seen below.

Title - Proto
Title - Final
2-Up Swipe Onion Skin

Despite being a pre-release build, the brighter menu design in this prototype was used in every other version of Glover, excluding US rev 0.
